About Basic Trailers
We're a proudly Australian-owned manufacturer building tough, reliable trailers right here in Adelaide.
Known for quality, consistency and a practical, no-nonsense approach, we're growing fast and need a dependable workshop assistant to help keep production moving.
We run a clean, structured and well-organised workshop with clear systems, solid support and a team that takes pride in the work.
About the role
This is a practical, hands-on role supporting our fabrication and assembly team.
You'll assist with welding preparation, mechanical assembly, material handling, basic workshop tasks and keeping production flowing on the floor.
It isn't general labouring.
You'll be working in a busy trailer manufacturing workshop where reliability, safe tool use and a steady work ethic matter.
Key responsibilities
Assist fabricators with welding support, grinding, drilling and trailer assembly
Support fit-out work including axles, wheels, springs and brakes
Prepare steel and materials, follow cutting lists and move stock via forklift
Operate hand and power tools safely
Help with paint preparation and general workshop tasks
Keep work areas organised, clean and productive
Follow job cards, instructions and production processes
What we're looking for
Recent experience in a workshop, mechanical, fabrication or manufacturing environment
Confident using hand and power tools
Able to follow instructions accurately and work at a steady production pace
Physically fit and comfortable with grinding, drilling, lifting and assembly work
Reliable, consistent and able to turn up ready to work every day
Forklift licence preferred but not essential
What we offer
Full-time, secure position in a growing local business
Clear processes and strong team support
Ongoing training across welding, fit-out and production tasks
Monthly breakfasts, catered lunches and staff discounts
Paid on time every time
End-of-year river trip (it's a thing and it's a good one)
How to apply
Send a short introduction and your CV.
You don't need every skill listed, but you will need a good attitude, solid work ethic and the ability to work safely in a workshop environment.
