About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a QHSE Coordinator to join Intertek Australia. The QHSE Coordinator is responsible for managing all matters relating to quality, health, safety, and environment. This is a coaching, influencing and compliance role that will be required to drive continual cultural change through the World of Energy Business and will serve as the central point of contact and expertise for all QHSE issues.
This will involve:
* Responsible for site technical compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and NATA accreditation.
* Monitoring and implementation of operating requirements according to ISO/IEC 17025.
* Responsible for the calibration and arbitrary checks of laboratory equipment in conjunction with laboratory staff.
* Monitor completion of accreditation requirements including record keeping
* Conduct and manage investigation of discrepancies or non-conformances and associated corrective or mitigative actions
* Development of systems and processes to drive the culture of an injury free workplace.
* Ensure work systems and processes are fully compliant to all local and national legislation.
* Perform periodic site inspections to monitor compliance with policies and procedures and provide improvement plans to educate workers where required.
* Manage all workers compensation matters.
* Coordinate and develop the annual training program for technical staff.
* Maintain the OH&S databases and records.
* Ensure adequate communication and consultation on QHSE issues.
* Actively participate and engage with all team members, striving to develop a high performing team that celebrates team goals, tackles challenges as they arise, drives continual improvement and embraces innovation and continual change.
Selection Criteria:
* Tertiary qualifications in quality, safety, chemistry, sciences or similar.
* Understanding of management of health, safety and quality systems.
* Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation and certification programs (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 17020, and ISO
* Previous exposure to various commercial operating environments, including laboratories, marine environments, cargo environments, processing, and refinery environments is advantageous.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Moderate Microsoft Office and Email skills.
