This is a Senior Administration Officer role with Queensland Government based in South Brisbane, QLD, AU Queensland Government Role Seniority - senior More about the Senior Administration Officer role at Queensland Government The role of Senior Administration Officer is to oversee and coordinate the administration team and provide effective, high quality financial, human resource and business support to the Manager. We are actively tackling the complex causes of youth crime and addressing serious repeat offenders and ensuring our systems and services not only meet, but anticipate the needs of victims We Do This By Providing early intervention, statutory Youth Justice, and detention services to ensure that young people are held accountable for their offending behaviour. We help support them to become responsible members of the community. As Senior Administration Officer, You Will Specifically Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Provide timely, high-quality administrative advice and support on the management of assets, facilities, financial and human resources, performance reporting and business systems. Analyse and prepare reports and draft correspondence for management. Develop and apply local administrative work practices and processes (established and not established) that enhance service delivery, and regularly review these practices and processes to ensure compliance with relevant departmental human resource, financial management, and other standards, policies, and legislation relevant to the operations of the business area. Manage, monitor, and deliver financial processes, including preparation and reviewing of the budget and performance reporting, and expenditure reconciliations. Lead, develop, implement, and maintain effective local administrative systems and processes for their business unit including systems relating to the management of assets and fleet, financial and human resources, performance reporting and business processes to meet the evolving needs of the business area and department. Have the ability to operate autonomously using a high level of initiative to resolve complex issues that frequently requires the interpretation of information and adaptation of processes to deliver practical solutions at the local level. Participate as a member of the management team, and contribute to local strategic and operational planning, reviews, and key decision-making. Support and coach employees in the local area pertaining to departmental policies and processes for management of assets, facilities, budgets, financial and human resources, reporting and business systems. Allocate, prioritise, and manage tasks within the administrative team in accordance with departmental procedures and financial and administrative delegations. Exercise judgement in balancing conflicting priorities, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity across administrative functions. Supervise and mentor administrative staff, promoting a collaborative work environment. Oversee administrative team training and career development initiatives. Regularly assess staff performance, provide feedback and assistance. Develop and maintain networks with internal and external clients and stakeholders to ensure effective integration, coordination, and liaison occur. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to encourage cooperation in complying with technical, business, and administrative requirements.
