MidCoast Council is seeking a motivated Human Resources Officer to join our Organisational Strategy and People team. This role is central to delivering high-quality HR services and ensuring smooth, effective HR processes across the employee lifecycle.


The role

As a Human Resources Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the organisation through :

Coordinating end-to-end recruitment including advertising, screening, facilitating interviews, and preparing employment documentation.

Managing HR administrative tasks across the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding and maintaining accurate HR records.

Preparing offer letters and HR documentation, ensuring compliance and attention to detail.

Supporting managers in attracting and selecting great talent by applying appropriate recruitment strategies.

Maintaining registers, systems, and HR documentation.

Assisting with data compilation to support accurate and timely reporting.

Coordinating and attending external events such as expos and information sessions.

Role modelling Council's organisational values—Team, Safety, Integrity, Respect, and Sustainability.

You will be part of a supportive team committed to delivering trusted, quality HR services to the organisation.


What you'll bring

We are looking for someone who brings :

ACertificate III in Business, HR or related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong administrative experience, ideally in HR or a similar environment.

Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.

Confidence using Microsoft Office and HR / administrative systems.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

A collaborative approach and positive interpersonal skills.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $39 - $43 per hour p.a. plus superannuation.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent Part-time (3-4 days per week).

Closing date: Sunday 4 January 2026 at 11.30 pm.
