About The Program

CatholicCare NT’s counselling program aims to support children, young people, and adults to develop supportive family relationships and reduce related emotional, social, and economic costs. The program emphasizes safe, supportive, and culturally appropriate services.


Role Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality, culturally appropriate counselling and groupwork services.
* Support and strengthen family relationships, prevent breakdowns, and promote mental health.
* Implement evidence-based interventions including family therapy, individual counselling, and group support.
* Work within a cohesive team environment.


Qualifications & Experience

* Relevant qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
* Experience working with children, young people, and families.
* Membership or eligibility for membership in PACFA, AASW, or ACA.
* Cultural competency, especially with Indigenous communities.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and case note writing skills.
