About the role
MYOB Acumatica is the leading ERP for mid‐market businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Our strength is not only the industry‐leading ERP itself but also the ecosystem we have built around it: the products, services, connected workflows, and intelligent capabilities that help our customers simplify complexity, move faster, and succeed. Design plays a central role in shaping that ecosystem, ensuring it is built on a genuine understanding of the people it serves.
As Design Lead you will lead a small, senior design team that shapes how MYOB builds and delivers value across this ecosystem. Your role operates at two levels: leading and developing a team of service and product designers and working as a hands‐on design practitioner in the strategic spaces that require senior judgement, cross‐team coordination, and direct stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a talented design team, driving high engagement, strong delivery, and exceptional partner and customer outcomes.
* Help shape the design strategy for MYOB Mid‐Market, ensuring design investment is focused on the highest‐leverage opportunities for partners and customers, not just the most visible or requested problems.
* Champion design thinking and human evidence across the product organisation, ensuring both are integrated into how the team prioritises, discovers, and builds.
* Build and maintain a connected view of the end‐to‐end experience across our ecosystem, generating the insights that help the business see where value is created and lost.
* Stay at the forefront of how AI is reshaping design practice, and bring that thinking into the team, ensuring MYOB leads with AI where it creates genuine value for customers, and that the design team is equipped to discover, prototype, and validate AI‐enabled experiences.
* Build strong working relationships with Product Managers, PMM, Pricing, Engineering, Marketing, and senior stakeholders, making design's contribution to partner outcomes, customer experience, and business performance visible and impactful.
Skills & Qualifications
* Deep understanding of service, experience and product design disciplines, with fluency across all three.
* Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop cross‐functional design teams to deliver high‐quality, customer‐centred outcomes.
* Strong experience in systems thinking, able to connect end‐to‐end journeys across multiple products, channels and organisational boundaries.
* Experience operating in a B2B, platform, channel‐led, or enterprise software context where design works around and beyond a core product.
* Ability to articulate and balance customer, commercial, and strategic perspectives, translating insight into actionable design priorities.
* Well versed with AI‐enabled design, automation, or data‐driven experiences, and curiosity to continue evolving these capabilities within the team.
* Strong experience in a design leadership role.
