About the Role
We have a position available for a Department of Transport AVE inspector/Light vehicle technician. We are willing to train the right technician into this position. This is a full time role but the AVE inspector role but we are flexible on hours worked.
The Role
The position is for a qualified Automotive Vehicle Examiner or a light vehicle mechanic looking to train into this role.

* Department of Transport inspections to DOT standards and regulations.
* General servicing and mechanical work if required.

Skills and Experience
We require a highly experienced, motivated, and very reliable light vehicle mechanic / Automotive Vehicle Examiner, with great communication skills. They should be a team player and be trusted to work unsupervised with high efficiency. We are looking for someone to fit our business purpose, ethics and culture. You would be living this culture already in your day to day life.
* Trade qualified, ideally currently or recently working in the trade as a light vehicle mechanic or a DOT Automotive Vehicle Examiner with a minimum 2-3 years post qualification experience in light vehicle mechanics.
* Applicants must hold a Certificate IV Automotive qualification to be considered for this role.
* Have a good understanding of modern vehicle electronics and engine management.
* Strong diagnostic skills and fault finding.
* Authorised Vehicle Examiner preferred but not essential (willing to train).
* This role requires a current WA police clearance.
* Clear English communication and clear reporting skills.
* Air Cond License an advantage.
* Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
* Must live in Perth. No overseas applicants.
