We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Bellevue Site.
This role is perfect for someone with a certificate III in Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade qualification who wants to work on a pivotal project that will make a real difference in the community.
The Production Manager will oversee your work, and you'll be responsible for performing all mechanical installations to complete the assembly of the train. With no two days being the same, you'll have plenty of opportunities to progress through the levels if you wish.
We're flexible and offer both day and afternoon shifts to suit your needs.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll read, apply technical documentation supplied, install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools, perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car, use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components, perform self-Inspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality, remove and replace defective parts and components, and proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
You'll also be responsible for organizing work instruction documents, tools and railway car parts daily.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Mechanical Trade Certification or Certificate III in Engineering or similar.
* Experience within the manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
* Ability to interpret technical diagrams & drawings.
* High risk tickets or licences (EWP, working at heights etc) would be advantageous (but not mandatory).
