This position is offered asa full time appointment (76 hours per fortnight) on a fixed termand/or permanent basis.

An opportunity exists for atalented and enthusiastic Coordinator of Nursing and Midwifery tojoin the Nursing team in Carnarvon – Midwest.

Carnarvon, WA, is a coastal town900 km north of Perth, nestled between the Indian Ocean andGascoyne River. Known as the food bowl of Western Australia, itproduces tropical fruits like bananas and mangoes. With a semi-aridclimate, it offers warm winters and hot summers. Attractionsinclude the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum, Quobba Station'sblowholes, and Kennedy Range National Park. Its Coral Coastlocation makes it a gateway to Ningaloo Reef. Outdoor enthusiastsenjoy world-class surfing at Red Bluff and Tombstones, plusexcellent fishing, kite surfing, and spearfishing in thislaid-back, adventure-rich destination..

To be successful,you will have...

* Eligible forregistration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursingand Midwifery Board ofAustralia.
* Demonstratedrecord of achievement in leadership and organisationaldevelopment at a nursing management levelwithin a complex, dynamic health serviceenvironment.
* Demonstratedclinical skills for acute, emergency and residential carenursing practiceenvironments.
* Demonstratedcontemporary knowledge of professional issues and trends, witha particular focus on rural and remote servicedelivery and health reform.
* Demonstratedexcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communicationskills and ability to cultivateteamwork.
* Demonstratedanalytical, financial, strategic management and projectmanagement skills.
* Demonstratesexperience in the application of continuous qualityimprovement principles including managingchange and the implementation and evaluationofntegrated clinical governancestrategies.
* Currentknowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in theareas of Equal Opportunity, DisabilityServices and Occupational Safety & Health, and howthese impact on employment, people managementand service delivery.
* Eligible for /or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence orother specialised licenceclass..

Position Profile

Provide high-level nursing clinicalleadership, management and governance within Carnarvon MPS, ExmouthMPS, Shark Bay, Coral Bay & Burringurrah Nursing Posts to ensuresafe effective and efficient service provision. Provides support tothe Operations Manager, Regional Director of Nursing & Midwifery &Regional Executive Team in developing and implementing thestrategic directions for the Carnarvon MPS, Exmouth MPS, Shark Bay,Coral Bay & Burringurrah Nursing Posts including progress of thehealth reform strategy, continuous quality improvement andimproving patient safety.

Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service(WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with itspopulation concentrated along the coast. The region is located inthe northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporatesthree health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest andMurchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and isa culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13%of the overall population.
