Role Overview
Join our People, Quality and Partnerships team in a pivotal role as The Injury Management Lead. Working across 3 days per week this role is responsible for facilitating the timely and effective recovery, rehabilitation, and return to work of employees who have sustained injuries or illnesses whilst at work.
This role involves provision of expert advice, ensuring compliance with relevant workers compensation/injury management legislation and Self Insurance requirements, across UnitingSA. This role leads reporting and data requirements as well as leading escalated cases at tribunal hearings.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrated experience in injury management, claims management and return to work within a self-insured environment.
* Demonstrated experience in the management of early intervention and rehabilitation services.
* Demonstrated experience in the management of claims to reduce workers compensation costs and improve outcomes for injured workers and UnitingSA.
* Proven experience liaising with leaders, statutory authorities, the medical profession, Return To Work SouthAustralia (RTWSA) staff and other stakeholders.
* Experience in managing medico-legal matters and representing at SA Employment Tribunal.
Skills & Experience
* A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline and/or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Certificate.
* Strong understanding of injury management and workers compensation processes within a self-insured framework.
* Ability to provide high level guidance and advice in the areas of injury management, claims management and return to work.
* Oversee and assist with the development of tailored rehabilitation and return-to-work plans while balancing organisational requirements and employee needs.
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Return to Work Act.
* Ability to collect and analyse trends and data to assist in planning and continuous improvement within the injury management function.
* Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
