The Role
We're seeking an experienced User Research Lead for a client in Canberra to take up a 12 months contract role with a view of extension. This role needs someone with Baseline Security Clearance.
* User Researchers work as part of an enabling function within our SAFe Agile environment. They gather insights on user needs, behaviours, and pain points, and leverage these insights to inform the development process.
* Proactively engage with a wide range of stakeholders to identify user research opportunities and risks.
* Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
* Develop user personas, journey maps, and research reports to communicate insights and inform design decisions.
* Collaborate with Product Management and technical staff to refine scope and backlogs, ensuring alignment with user research findings.
* Work with delivery teams to integrate user research insights into the development process.
* Facilitate user testing sessions, interviews, and surveys to gather feedback and validate design concepts.
* Continuously iterate on research methodologies and approaches based on emerging requirements, user feedback, and data-driven insights.
* Ensure appropriate quality assurance of research deliverables, including engaging with and contributing to the Design Reference Group.
Your Responsibilities
* You will have several years of demonstrable experience working in a user research role conducting qualitative and quantitative research and developing research artefacts.
* You will possess relevant tertiary and/or professional certifications.
* You will have a deep understanding of user research principles and techniques.
* You will be proficient in research tools such as Miro, Figma, Useberry, and Hotjar.
* You will have excellent analytical skills to interpret user data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
* You will have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
