About Us:
Aitkenvale State School is located in the North Queensland Region and is centred near urban commercial outlets. Children attending our school come from many differing locations throughout Townsville due to our diverse faculty mix.
Our school also has a distinctive refugee and migrant population and therefore we have developed an intensive approach to students learning the English language and engaging with the Australian Curriculum. Approximately 30% of our students speak one or more languages/dialects other than English, which provides our school with a wonderful richness of language and culture.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Provide strategic leadership in curriculum or whole-school programs by developing and promoting a shared educational vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Promote equity and excellence by embedding socially just practices, setting high standards, and understanding relevant legislation and policy impacting students and staff.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement through active participation in lifelong learning and professional development for self and others.
* Build strong partnerships with students, parents, community groups, and other government agencies to support student success.
* Effectively manage resources (human, financial, facilities, and curriculum) to achieve strategic goals and ensure sustainable, future-focused outcomes.
