Consultant Psychiatrist | Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service
Barwon Health invites applications for a Part‑time Consultant Psychiatrist to support our Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service (MHDAS) in Geelong. The role is open for newly graduated and experienced psychiatrists.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership in high‑quality psychiatric services for consumers.
* Act as delegate of the authorised Psychiatrist as defined in the Mental Health Act 2022 and contribute to the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Programme.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver best practice care.
* Support the development and design of MHDAS services in partnership with community and local health providers.
Qualifications
* Registered medical practitioner, FRANZCP or equivalent.
* Accredited as a RANZCP supervisor and hold general or specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support.
* Commitment to quality service improvement and patient safety.
