About the Role
As a Relief Heavy Plant Operator, you will:
* Operate and maintain heavy plant including excavators, graders, backhoes, trucks, and skid steer loaders
* Assist in the safe and efficient construction and maintenance of Council's civil infrastructure
* Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance
* Support road construction, grading, drainage works, and restoration tasks
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and Council procedures
What You'll Need
Essential:
* Demonstrated experience operating heavy plant in civil construction or maintenance
* Current NSW Class HR Driver's Licence
* WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
* Sound knowledge of WHS practices and plant safety
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Class HC Driver's Licence
* Relevant plant operation tickets (excavator, grader, roller)
* First Aid Certificate
* Experience in local government or public works
* Certificates in Traffic Control, Chainsaw Operations, Chemical Use, and more
