About The Opportunity
The South Western Sydney Local health District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The Primary and Community Health paediatric Occupational Therapy team are recruiting to a temporary full time occupational therapist (level 1/2) until June 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in public health and make a meaningful impact on the lives of paediatric clients and their families across the district. As an occupational therapist working within this paediatric team you will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in working with paediatric clients and contribute to patient care in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment. We provide access to regular supervision and individualised support to ensure development of your clinical skills. New graduate occupational therapists are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with a range of developmental needs (aged 0 – 12years).
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including speech pathologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians, social workers, and educators.
* Deliver evidence-based, family-centered therapy services in line with best practice guidelines.
* Develop and implement individualised therapy plans and monitor progress.
* Engage in health promotion and parent/caregiver education.
* Participate in case conferences and team meetings
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
Provide a high quality occupational therapy service to clients and their families/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the clients of the service. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient entry, assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation, evaluation and separation of patients/clients in a multi-disciplinary setting. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for undertaking designated administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

How To Apply

* Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated clinical experience working within a Paediatric setting including demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Evidence of knowledge and commitment to the application of quality improvement and evidence based practice.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
