Role Description
This is a part time/casual role, with hybrid options, for a Family and Domestic Violence Lawyer. The position is based in either Hervey Bay or Brisbane, QLD, with flexibility to work remotely. The successful applicant will be required to appear in both the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Brisbane and Hervey Bay QLD).
The role involves providing high-quality legal advice and representation in family and domestic and family violence matters, with options to expand into other areas of law. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing case files and participating in client consultations. The successful applicant will collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure thorough and trauma-informed case management.
Qualifications
* Admission as an unrestricted Legal Practitioner in Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
* Demonstrated experience of a minimum of two (2) plus years PAE in family law and domestic and family violence representation.
* Proficiency in Smokeball practice management software.
* Willingness to learn Smokeball practice management software on the job as training will be provided.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
* Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice.
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals or diverse communities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
