Job Title: Energy Market Analyst
As a key member of our high-performing team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape. We are seeking a skilled Energy Market Analyst to join our team and contribute to the development of our gas, electricity, and renewable products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake analysis and modelling to develop hedging strategies for gas, electricity, and renewable products.
* Support both Portfolio Management and Finance requirements by providing financial forecasts, enhancing hedging strategies, and tracking performance.
* Provide analytical and financial modelling support to inform tactical and strategic decision-making.
* Participate in projects involving modelling, decision support, and ensuring financial integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for individuals with a strong quantitative background, preferably in business, economics, commerce, finance, or a related field. Essential skills include:
* Detailed understanding of trade modelling, straight-through processing, electricity pricing curves, and general systems configuration.
* Ability to engage Front Office staff, including Trades, Quants, and Managers.
* Business and Functional Requirements Specification skills, including gathering and documenting.
* Good understanding of financial derivative instruments and associated pricing methods.
* Strong proficiency in sourcing and analysing data to formulate pricing, hedging, and business decisions.
* Experience and proficiency in programming languages, including Python, VBA, and SQL.
