Lutheran Homes Barossa services residents of Tanunda Lutheran Home and our Retirement living Villages, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Barossa.
We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to caring for and enriching the lives of our residents.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Person with a strong focus on gardening to join our team at our residential aged care home.
This is a meaningful role that helps provide a safe, beautiful, and welcoming outdoor workplace for our residents, their families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
- Mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and seasonal clean-up.
- Use and maintenance of gardening tools and equipment.
- Ensuring proper irrigation systems function effectively.
- Support with general maintenance tasks across the facility as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, with sensitivity to the needs of residents.
About you
- A genuine respect and care for older people.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors.
- Basic general maintenance skills needed.
- Other Trade knowledge would be highly regarded.
- A satisfactory police clearance for working in Aged Care less than 12 months old.
- Experience in a similar role in the aged care facility or similar is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of WHS practices; understanding of infection control in aged care is a plus.
- Driver’s license is a must for travelling between sites.
