The Team & Role
The Dental Team Leader is a key member of the multidisciplinary dental team, responsible for delivering safe, personal, effective, and connected care to our community. The role provides leadership and line management to an integrated clinical team while also delivering high quality clinical care and oral health promotion. The OHT/DT demonstrates advanced clinical skills, strong communication, effective management of patient concerns, and contributes to service improvement. As a Level 4 clinician, the OHT/DT recognises clinical limitations, mentors less experienced staff, and works collaboratively with the wider clinical leadership group.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
• Diploma of Dental Therapy and/or Bachelor of Oral Health Science (or equivalent).
• AHPRA registration, indemnity insurance, and radiography licence.
• Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
• Advanced clinical skills
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
• Proven capacity to manage and prioritise competing demands in a busy clinical environment.
Desirable
• Experience working in a Community Dental Program.
• Experience collaborating with other community health programs to identify and address community health needs.
• Understanding of, or experience in, planning, coordinating, and evaluating oral health promotion initiatives.
