The Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our South Australia workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will play a critical role in the assembly, construction, and maintenance of mechanical systems and marine equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands‐on environment and values teamwork, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct and support general fitting and turning tasks.
* Assemble and fit marine parts and equipment.
* Construct and assemble mechanical systems.
* Align and shim main equipment and shaft lines.
* Inspect work to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
* Operate workshop tools and equipment, including milling machines and lathes.
* Construct structural components from technical drawings and blueprints.
* Maintain a clean and productive work environment, minimising waste.
* Adhere to all health and safety policies, including correct use of PPE.
* Perform general duties within your scope of competence.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent trade qualification.
* Shipbuilding experience highly desirable.
* Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
* Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
* Forklift and Dogman/Rigger licenses advantageous.
