About the Role

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for promoting and communicating Hockey Victoria's community activities and ensuring its brand is consistently represented across all platforms. This role plays a critical part in implementing campaigns, growing membership engagement, supporting sponsorship deliverables, and managing the organisation's digital presence and media relationships.

Location: Parkville, Victoria, Australia.

Position: Full Time.

Hockey Victoria Duties (Community)

* Manage suitable videographers, photographers, and graphic designers to capture and create content across HV's major competitions, events, and game development programs.
* Edit and create video content related to HV's major competitions, events, and game development programs for publication on HV social media accounts and website.
* Take strategic direction from the General Manager of Commercial Operations & HC Melbourne and collaborate with external stakeholders to support specific projects requiring written and digital content.
* Write copy, communication content, and schedule news articles and posts for campaigns on HV social media platforms, HV website, and for EDMs.
* Ensure that all sponsor benefits relating to digital and promotion materials are delivered.
* Attend events and activities for Hockey Victoria's competitions, events, and community programs to capture content and coordinate social media coverage.
* Promote the live‐stream platform used for HV competitions and events throughout the year.
* Collaborate with the other Marketing & Communications Manager to manage the HV social media accounts, website content, and all accounts and subscriptions related to HV's marketing and communications activities.

Melbourne Cobras

* Coordinate videographers, photographers, and graphic designers to create content for the Melbourne Cobras H1 Team and community engagement activities.
* Capture and coordinate photo and video content at Melbourne Cobras events; edit and publish on social media and website.
* Take strategic direction from the General Manager – Government Relations & Melbourne Cobras and collaborate with external stakeholders on specific projects requiring written and digital content.
* Manage digital and written content for all campaigns, including writing copy, communication content, scheduling news articles and social posts, EDMs, and producing communication materials for Cobras fans and members.
* Ensure that all sponsor benefits relating to digital and promotion materials are delivered.
* Attend events and match‐day activities to capture content and manage social media coverage.
* Oversee media day for the H1 teams, ensuring all necessary content is captured, edited, and used in a timely manner.
* Manage the Melbourne Cobras social media accounts and website content throughout the year, ensuring regular posting.
* Edit H1 match highlights both in‐season and off‐season, building a library of content ready for social media and website.
* Develop and execute a content plan for pay‐wall content on the Melbourne Cobras website.

Essential Skill Requirements

* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise tasks.
* High level of attention to detail and creative thinking.
* Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, seeking new ways to deliver continuous and engaging content.
* Proactive attitude and ability to work autonomously.
* Sound understanding of community sports and media.
* Experience coordinating website content and social media platforms (e.g., FB, IG, YouTube, TikTok).
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and platforms such as Brightcove and Vimeo.
* Current Victorian Working With Children Check.
* Ability to work weekends and evenings as required.

Essential Requirements

* Relevant tertiary qualification.
* Sports marketing / PR / communications degree.
* Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Desirable Criteria

* Driver's licence.
