Job Description


About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Legal Counsel / Contract Managerto join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. While the role is based in Adelaide, we are open to candidates from across Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing and growing company to develop your skills to the next level.

In this role, you will be drafting and negotiating contracts for engineering bids and projects, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting GPA’s strategic objectives.

Your strong communication skills, collaborative approach, and ability to multi-task will be key to your success. We're looking for someone with a can-do attitude, who enjoys working in a fast-paced and supportive team environment.


Key Duties

Reporting to the GPA’s Commercial & Contracting Lead, you will provide fast, accurate and commercially driven support and advice to GPA’s business, including the following:

* Identifying and mitigating contractual/commercial risks.
* Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts with both clients and suppliers.
* Managing contract amendments, variations, extensions and rates adjustments
* Providing guidance and advice to staff to ensure that contractual and legal requirements are adequately understood and communicated
* Researching and developing guidance for compliance with legislation/regulations effecting the business.


Desired Skills & Experience

* Either a minimum of 4 to 6years post-admission experience in private practice or in-house legal position or minimum 6 years contract management experience in a mid-large organisation.
* Strong analytical, contractual interpretation and communication skills.
* Complex legal drafting skills
* Experienced in leading contract negotiations
* Agile thinking, strong commercial skills and business acumen
* Proactive, organised, and an excellent problem-solver
* High attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
* Ability to work well both autonomously and collaboratively, as well as interact effectively with all career levels and departments.

A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory Australian police clearance.
