Essantis - Wagin (WA) (Approximately 2.5 hours southeast of Perth)

Full-Time

We are seeking a Maintenance Leading Hand to join our team at our Wagin Mill in WA.

As Maintenance Leading Hand, you will be responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day site maintenance activities, workshop operations, and the overseeing of all electrical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

This position operates on day shift, Monday to Friday. Call backs, call outs and weekend support are necessary from time to time to ensure the Mill meets operational requirements.

•Lead and supervise day to day workshop activities; leading a team of 2 electricians and 2 fitters;

•Direct and supervise allocated maintenance employees work schedules;

•Supervising tradespeople that are hired to assist on projects;

•Maintain plant and equipment service and operation records;

•Assist in the regular checking of tool lists and parts inventories;

•Inspect and supervise major repairs, including ordering of parts required in consultation with the General Manager;

•Report in writing, all plant and equipment damage to General Manager;

•Prepare and monitor plant replacement and maintenance programmes in consultation with General Manager;

•Industrial design, installation and assembly of electrical networks at the site;

•Installing, servicing and repairing of wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices and systems on site;

•Examining the design and blueprints identifying specifications and determining the correct methods of operation;

•Conducting electrical tests and inspections;

•Schedule and manage the cleaning contacts and or circuit boards;

•Ensuring systems are grounded;

•Installing lighting fixtures and switches;

•Maintaining the workshop and surrounding areas in a clean and safe manner while complying with relevant standards;

•Identifying and implementing preventative measures including oiling motors, bending conduit and replacing old wires where required;

•Maintaining stock and conducting regular stocktakes;

•Adhere to safe work practices and safety rules at all times.

•Other ad hoc duties as requested by the General Manager Operations (WA) within the scope of your role

Essential

•A current driver’s licence

•Relevant Qualification: Trade Certificate (or equivalent)

•Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and skills to maintain and repair

•Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary environment

•Fault-finding and installation skills

•Computer and systems knowledge skills (IT savvy)

•Ability to problem solve for root cause resolution

•Strong customer focus and team orientation

•Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

•Boiler Operating qualifications or willing to attain

•Knowledge and skills in providing both food and people safety.

•Capability of physical activity including crawling into confined spaces or climbing at heights

•Capable of performing physical tasks within the Mill. Able to work in dusty environments.

Highly Desirable

•A valid Electrical Workers (EW) Licence

•Complete the Company Nomination (or equivalent) course

•Relevant Qualification in: Electrical Trade Certificate (or equivalent)

•Experience in PLC’s, VSD’s, and SCADA Systems

•Experience in industrial electrics, including motor control including Variable Frequency Drives, PLC, automation and instrumentation

Desirable

•Experience in welding and auto mechanics

•Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket

•Working at Height ticket
