**About this Opportunity**
Reporting to the Site Manager, this role will be responsible for managing raw material, processing, packaging and utilities equipment to ensure compliance to quality, cost, operational efficiency, customer requirements and specifications while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide leadership to the team that promotes the management and development of the team, to increase collaboration and the performance of the department.
- Work with key stakeholders and departments to reduce costs, production costs and optimise operating budgets.
- Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the Maintenance Team and in collaboration with Production.
- Increase the sites operational effectiveness through improvements on project delivery, downtime reduction initiatives and ensure completion of root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns ensuring that a standard approach is taken.
- Improve planned and predicative maintenance standards including assisting with determining spare parts to meet reasonable requirements.
- Compliance to quality systems to guarantee and improve product quality.
- Improve the collective performance of the site by leading project teams.
- Manage capital expenditure of the site with the Project Team.
**About You**
To succeed in this role the following knowledge and skills are required:
- Degree qualification in management preferred
- Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Electrician
- Experience in engineering maintenance
- Experience within a Dairy or FMCG industry preferred
- Ability to lead and manage a multi layered team
- Strong financial acumen
- Project management ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support to site as required
