Senior Demand Planner – Fixed Term Contract (Until December)

I am currently partnering with a well established global organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Demand Planner to join their supply chain team in Sydney on a fixed term contract through to December.
This role will play a key part in the planning function, leading the demand planning process for a defined product portfolio while ensuring accurate forecasting, strong service levels, and balanced inventory across the network.
You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and regional Supply teams in a highly collaborative environment where planning plays a central role in supporting commercial performance.
The Role
As the Senior Demand Planner, you will be responsible for managing the demand planning cycle and contributing to the Integrated Business Planning process. The role focuses on translating sales insights, historical data, and market intelligence into accurate forecasts that support strong service levels and inventory optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead demand forecasting for a defined product portfolio
* Manage forecast generation and maintenance aligned to the IBP planning cycle
* Partner with Sales and Marketing to gather commercial insights and improve forecast accuracy
* Analyse data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
* Monitor service performance and investigate root causes of service issues
* Support recovery initiatives to maintain strong customer service levels
* Provide supply chain planning input into new product launches
* Work closely with regional supply teams to optimise safety stock and inventory levels
* Identify opportunities to reduce excess and obsolete inventory
About You
* 5+ years experience in demand planning or supply chain planning
* Experience working within FMCG, consumer goods, healthcare, or a fast moving product environment
* Strong forecasting, analytics, and data interpretation skills
* Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP
* Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is advantageous
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work cross functionally
