About the Position
We are excited to welcome a Director of Family Support Services to our North Queensland team We are looking for an experienced senior leader with strong practitioner skills gained from working in youth or family support settings. In this role, you will draw on your expertise to provide practice and operational leadership across multiple geographical locations, ensuring service delivery is child-focused, trauma-informed, and aligned with best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead high-impact family support services across North Queensland, driving best-practice, trauma-informed and child-focused support for children and families.
* Champion culturally safe and inclusive practice, ensuring every child, young person, family and community receives respectful, meaningful support.
* Inspire and mentor managers and teams, building a high-performing, values-driven workforce that delivers exceptional outcomes.
* Shape service excellence and performance, overseeing quality, compliance, risk, budgets and continuous improvement across multiple locations.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (eg human services, allied health, social work) and professional registration where required.
* At least eight (8) years of proven effective leadership and senior management experience, preferably within a family support service delivery context.
* Previous experience as a practitioner working with children or young people within a relevant context.
* Ability to provide strong leadership, supervision, guidance and support to operational managers to ensure a cohesive child-focussed and trauma informed approach to service delivery.
* Experience managing teams working across multiple geographic areas.
* Willingness and ability to travel to fulfill the requirements of the role.
* Experience in and genuine commitment to nurture and develop workforce capacity to achieve improved outcomes for children, young people and their families.

* Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
* Current driver's licence.
* Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
