Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker/Carer to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker/Carer, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing assistance, support, and companionship. You will work closely with clients to help them achieve their goals and maintain their independence while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or within the community.
* Assist with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Foster a positive and supportive environment for clients, promoting their independence and social engagement.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client care plans and progress.
* Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other team members.
* Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a related field is preferred but not required.
* Experience in disability support or a similar caregiving role is highly regarded.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
* A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory with comprehensive car insurance.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work with individuals from a range of social, financial and cultural backgrounds.
* Ability and willingness to undertake a wide range of tasks.
* Ability to cope with changes in work demands, to think outside the box and problem solve.
* First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).
* Willingness to learn and competency in using technology (internet, email and smartphone).
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Current National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months).
