Warrnambool Bowls Club is one of regional Victoria's leading sporting and community clubs, offering a strong bowls program alongside modern hospitality, events, and community engagement.
With a proud bowls history and a clear focus on growth, inclusion, and member experience, the Club hosts several major tournaments each year and supports Pennant, social, and representative bowls at all levels.
We are now seeking a motivated Bowls Coordinator to play a key role in the ongoing success and development of bowls at the Club.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Event Management
* Plan and deliver major tournaments and annual events, including:
* Qube Logistics Autumn Classic
* SHB Business & Wealth Advisers Prelude Singles
* Aussie Broadband New Year's Triples
* VBL Bulls, Dalton Shield, Leishman/Stafford Cup
* Coordinate Pennant competitions (Tuesdays & Saturdays)
* Oversee social bowls, coaching programs, and seasonal schedules
* Liaise with sponsors, Bowls Victoria, regional associations, and visiting clubs
* Work closely with Match and Selection Committees and volunteers
* Coordinate with greens staff to ensure surfaces and facilities are competition-ready
Member & Volunteer Engagement
* Act as the primary point of contact for bowls members
* Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful bowls culture
* Support recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers and officials
* Assist with onboarding new members, juniors, and returning players
Marketing & Community Engagement
* Maintain and update the club website with bowls news, events, and results
* Manage and grow bowls-related social media content
* Prepare newsletters, flyers, and event communications
* Build partnerships with schools, community groups, and sponsors
* Represent the Club at local and regional events
Administration & Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of events, participation, and results
* Assist with bowls budgeting and operational planning
* Prepare monthly reports for the General Manager
* Ensure compliance with child safety, governance, and safety requirements

Essential
* Strong organisational and event coordination skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of lawn bowls rules, competitions, and club environments
* Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and committees
* Digital confidence (email, documents, website updates, social media)
Desirable
* Experience coaching lawn bowls
* Background in sport, recreation, or community organisations
* Experience working in a club or volunteer-based environment
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
* Gaming Industry Employee Licence
