About The Business Unit
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) is the centralised intelligence unit which services the prison system and statewide services, community correctional functions, and Youth Justice. CVIU works closely with localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria.
The services delivered by CVIU support Corrections Victoria and Youth Justice to provide safe and secure correctional facilities, support the safety of staff and people in custody, and to support community safety and the effective management of offenders in the community.
About The Role
The position of Intelligence Manager will have the primary responsibility for supervising the collection, recording, analysis and dissemination of information to support decision makers across Youth Justice, Corrections Victoria and key stakeholders. This position will oversee intelligence teams providing onsite intelligence support at Youth Justice facilities, and will work closely with a range of stakeholders to provide advice on the results of intelligence gathering, including the identification and evaluation of emerging threats, trends, opportunities and mitigation strategies.
Some of Your Duties Will Include
* Lead a team of intelligence practitioners delivering varied intelligence functions, providing strong leadership, guidance, and ensuring responsibility and accountability.
* Provide authoritative strategic advice on the results of intelligence gathering, including the identification and evaluation of emerging threats, trends, opportunities and mitigation strategies.
* As a member of the CVIU leadership team, lead and contribute to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of CVIU operations.
About You
* Experience in leading intelligence practitioners delivering tactical and strategic intelligence functions.
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of contemporary principles and practices that apply to intelligence functions within the criminal justice system and across intelligence agencies.
* Knowledge of legislation pertaining to the Victorian Youth Justice and adult correctional system.
Qualifications
* An existing Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance; otherwise one must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
* A current Working with Children (WWC) Check; otherwise one must be obtained prior to employment commencing.
* Working knowledge of the Centurion Intelligence System, Ejustice, CRIS, PIMS, Microsoft Office and the Prisoner Telephone System (desirable).
