Key responsibilities include performing repairs on buses and other maintenance activities, overseeing major repair programs, conducting functional checks, providing on-the-job instruction, training, and coaching to staff, developing the skills of the workshop team, leading by example, representing the organisation in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, maintaining all tools, equipment, and work areas, liaising with the Regional Assets Support Manager, assisting the Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, ensuring staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks, reporting and repairing all accident damage as required, and performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed.

Requirements:

The successful applicant will hold relevant trade qualifications (MVTC), have minimum 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Body Builder/Panel Beater, be able to mentor apprentices to learn their trade, play a critical role in their growth within the team, day to day running of the workshop, ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules, apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement, be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role, be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia, and hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State.
