Position Overview This is a full-time position based in Northern Suburbs of Brisbane. Reporting to the Home Assessing Team Leader, the Desktop Assessor will manage a portfolio of assigned claims from start to finish. In this role, you will identify the cause of property damage, determine the scope and cost of repairs, and deliver a high standard of customer service throughout the claims process. Key responsibilities include: Completing desktop assessments of insured properties using virtual tools and/or causation reports supplied by specialist providers. Preparing comprehensive reports that outline cause, coverage, damage and recommended repair methods. Reviewing scopes of work and technical reports to ensure repairs are cost-effective and delivered in appropriate timeframes. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as local authorities and third-party building surveyors. Negotiating and confirming scopes of work and costings with relevant parties. Managing claims end-to-end in collaboration with internal operations teams to meet service, cost and quality expectations. Consistently meeting key performance targets (KPIs). Submitting documentation, reports and scopes within agreed service levels (SLAs). What You’ll Bring Previous experience within the building or construction industries or home assessment in Insurance required. Strong customer service and supplier relationship management capability. Ability to perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Experience preparing scopes, quotations or cost estimates. Confident and proficient in using technology and digital tools.
