You'll support participants with diverse abilities, helping them develop new skills, engage in community activities, and build meaningful relationships. Each day is unique – you might assist someone in going to the gym, participating in group activities, learning public transport, cooking a meal, preparing for a job interview, or getting ready for the day ahead. It's all about what they want to achieve.
Our Lifeskills program goals aim to:
* Assist participants to develop life skills in the wider community by building independence skills with day-to-day tasks (e.g. cooking, daily living supports)
* Assist participants to develop skills to prepare for independent living (money handling, budgeting, transport training)
* Assist participants to access activities that will help them maintain their health and wellbeing (bowling, multisport, swimming)
* Assist participants to achieve their goal of customised employment, which involves helping people with disabilities get a job.
What We Offer:
* Teamwork: Work alongside dedicated colleagues in a fun and energetic environment.
* Available Shifts: Monday to Friday, including some Saturdays.
* Competitive Pay: Including salary sacrifice up to $18,550 per annum, superannuation, and leave loading.
* Training & Support: Ongoing development with opportunities for Certificate III and IV qualifications.
About You:
* Passionate about helping others.
* Able to work autonomously and with varied support needs.
* Capable of performing low-level personal care.
* Moderately fit and adaptable to changing demands.
* Efficient in completing records and reports.
* Available to work a minimum of four (4) days across Monday-Friday, hours can be between 8am-5pm.
* Experience working with Behaviour Support Plans.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting people with disabilities
* Working with Children Check.
* Valid National Police Clearance (within 3 months).
* Right to work in Australia.
* Roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle (kms reimbursed).
* Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
* Manual Handling training
