Lead Welder Role

The Lead Welder position is critical in our Starbase launch site, requiring expertise in specialized trades to complete welding requirements and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the welding team daily
* Orient new team members, assign tasks, and ensure performance standards are met
* Assist in coaching, mentoring, and training team members
* Report status and issues to leadership and customers
* Support leadership in conflict resolution, quality control, and throughput optimization
* Complete welding assignments safely and professionally
* Coordinate work with support groups, including flight control and engineering
* Analyze engineering drawings to plan welding operations
* Obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalency certificate
* 5+ years of pipe and structural welding experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* 5+ years of metal fabrication experience
* 3+ years leading small weld teams
* 1+ years of experience working at a launch, test, or production site
* Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements
* Ability to adapt to a high-paced work environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
* Valid driver's license and ability to work overtime and weekends
* Must be available for assignments in extreme outdoor environments
