The International Labour Team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and works closely with stakeholders in the department and across government, to support Australia's engagement with the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Our key objectives include advancing, protecting and promoting Australia's broader national and international labour interests by ensuring Australia's views are reflected in ILO's deliberations and outcomes.
Our team leads on ratification of labour standards domestically, working closely with Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Australian Council of Trade Unions and relevant commonwealth, state and territory government agencies.
* Developing policy and strategy for Australia's engagement with the ILO to reflect Australia's domestic and international interests.
* Leading and supporting on policy projects as part of Australia's membership of the ILO, including priority conventions, protocols and reporting against obligations.
Key responsibilities include representing Australia at international labour meetings, such as annual ILO International Labour Conference and Governing Body sessions.
Applicants should possess extensive policy experience, strong leadership skills and an understanding of workplace relations environments. Experience in international engagement is desirable.
