The School of Humanities and Communication Arts offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including research programs, in the following broad disciplinary fields: arts, communication, convergent media, design (visual communication), humanities, interpreting and translation, languages, music, and creative music therapy. To support these disciplines, manages a broad technical infrastructure including language and interpreting laboratories, music recording and performance studios, photography studios, specialist computing labs, video and audio editing suites, a TV studio, an outside broadcast van, and a dedicated computing server infrastructure.
**The Opportunity**
Are you passionate about driving research excellence and fostering academic growth? The School of Humanities and Communication Arts is seeking a dynamic Research Development Officer to join the team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of sector best-practice processes and quality assurance mechanisms to enhance the School's research profile. This is stimulating position offers considerable responsibility and the chance to make a lasting impact on our research community.
Additionally, you will collaborate with researchers within the School, including Higher Degree Researchers, and collaborate with the Research Services team. Your expertise will assist academic staff in identifying opportunities and partnerships, increasing external funding, and advancing their careers. By providing expert advice in submission writing, building academic collaboration, and enhancing knowledge of the research sector, you will contribute to the growth and quality of our research endeavours.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years based at Parramatta South Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University will be required.

**About You**
You are a highly qualified professional with a postgraduate degree and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of professional attainment and education. You excel in managing and staying updated with various research funding opportunities, reading and critiquing complex funding documentation, and writing clearly and persuasively. Your experience includes developing collaborations and partnerships with diverse external partners, including industry, government, and community agencies. You possess high-level problem-solving skills, outstanding interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities, and you can work independently. You are adept at analysing national policy trends in higher education, particularly in research and innovation. Your computer literacy is high, with proficiency in research-related databases, spreadsheets, word processing, electronic communication, and search technologies related to research funding sources.
