Strathfield North Public School, enrolment of 520 students, including 72% from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. This includes 3 Inclusive Classes for students on the Autism Spectrum.
All students have the opportunity to learn one of 3 community languages: Chinese, Italian, or Korean. We take pride in our small group of Aboriginal students, who contribute to the diversity of our school community.
Strathfield North offers students a range of programs to support both their academic, physical and creative growth. There are various sporting programs including (PSSA). Creative and Performing Arts is also offered through Wakakirri, choirs, music, dance, Art Pod, public speaking and debating. The school prioritises the explicit teaching of resilience and problem-solving strategies via The Anxiety Project and Zones of Regulation.
Our wider school community is proactive and supported by a Parent and Citizens Association.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Primary K-6 and demonstrated excellence in delivering effective and explicit literacy and numeracy pedagogies that improve learning outcomes for all students.
Proven ability to engage in reflective practice and show evidence of ongoing improvement in teaching and learning through data analysis.
Demonstrated skills in improving student agency for the benefit of student learning and wellbeing.
Willingness and experiences to positively contribute to and enrich whole school programs and extracurricular activities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
