About the Role
Greatland is seeking a Production Geologist to join our open pit team at Telfer. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of geological data, supporting operational planning, and optimising resource usage.
As Production Geologist, you will be responsible for:
* Delivering a safe working environment by following all Telfer procedures, conducting risk assessments, and actively participating in safety initiatives.
* Support grade control and reconciliation by validating sampling practices, monitoring operational drilling, and analysing reconciliation trends.
* Generate high-quality geological work product to inform mine planning and operational decisions.
* Collaborate effectively across departments, including with Senior Geologists, Engineers, Surveyors, Metallurgists, and Superintendents.
* Communicate daily work plans and operational requirements to supervisors and production teams, ensuring transparency and alignment.
* Contribute to planning and scheduling activities to optimize mine performance, monitor improvement projects, and take corrective actions as needed.
* Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards in all interactions, supporting company policies and fostering a positive team culture.
About You
* A qualified geologist with experience in operational geology.
* Exposure to production tracking and reconciliation, RC grade control design and execution, geological modelling, grade estimation and ore block design.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced mining environment.
* Commitment to safety-first principles and continuous improvement.
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia's East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia's third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
