The Role
Located in Derrimut, our client is seeking to hire an experienced, motivated Financial Accountant to join the Finance Team. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant in this role, the successful applicant will be enthusiastic, with great attention to detail, whilst looking for a rewarding role.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Assisting with the month-end process
* Maintaining the fixed asset register
* Preparation and processing of journals
* Bank and other general ledger reconciliations
* Assist with the preparation of BAS, FBT, PTRS and other compliance work
* Provide ABS reports when required
* Preparation and payment of weekly and fortnightly wages
* Manage Workcover claims, payments and reconciliations
* Handle any insurance claims end-to-end
* Processing of Overseas supplier invoices and payments
* Assist with FX reporting
* Assistance with both AP and AR staff if required
* Assisting with annual audit
* Liaising with external and internal stakeholders
* Other ad-hoc duties to support the team
* Provide full accounting duties to our retail branch, including the preparation of financial statements, balance sheet reports and reconciliations.
The Person
* CPA qualified or working towards
* Numerous years of relevant accounting and payroll experience
* Strong computer and data entry skills
* Experience with Microsoft D365 or other high‐end accounting programs essential
* Micropay experience is advantageous but not essential
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Have an "outgoing, can‐do" attitude
* High organisation and time management skills
* Exposure to foreign currencies
