Are you a seasoned welding professional with a sharp eye for quality and compliance? Loy Yang is building a pool of
qualified QA Welding Inspectors to support upcoming maintenance, outage, and project activities. If you thrive in high-pressure environments and have a passion for precision, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct QA/QC inspections on-site and off-site, including welding, hydrostatic testing, and subcontractor works.
* Review and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Field Installation Check Sheets (FICs), and quality documentation.
* Liaise with engineering and reliability teams to ensure welding activities meet compliance and technical standards
* Identify and submit appropriate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for client review and approval.
* Maintain and manage quality records in SAP and SharePoint systems
* Perform welder qualification testing and maintain certification records.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and coach tradespeople on QA/QC best practices.
* Participate in pre-outage planning and risk mitigation meetings.
What We Are Looking For
* Proven track record in QA/QC roles within power stations, mining, offshore/onshore pipelines, and heavy industrial projects.
* Extensive experience with CMMS systems (SAP), welding procedure development, and welder qualification.
* Strong understanding of Australian and international welding standards and NDT requirements.
* Demonstrated leadership during major outages and shutdowns.
Qualifications & Certifications
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and coach tradespeople on QA/QC best practices.
* Welding Certificates (preferred)
* Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
* ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor (preferred)
* High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, EWP)
* Confined Space & Working at Heights (Nationally Recognised)
* Construction Induction Card (White/Red)
