Job description ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) enables preventative, positive change in the food, health, wellbeing and sustainability habits of children and young people, families and communities right across Australia.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Educator to join the Project Lead in delivering our flagship Kitchen Garden Program onsite on the unceded lands of the Gundungurra and Dharawal people in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Reporting to the Project Lead, your role is to support the facilitation of kitchen and garden class sessions for primary school aged children and assist in the maintenance of the Kitchen Garden.
This dynamic role involves working with primary school aged children and the broader community and is fun, hands-on and fast-paced.
You will join a passionate, supportive and collaborative group of people dedicated to supporting schools, early childhood services and communities to experience fun, hands-on and delicious food education for all young Australians.

ABOUT YOU

* Kitchen garden program experience or strong personal knowledge of productive gardening and home-style cooking.
* Facilitation skills and the ability to deliver fun and engaging hands-on cooking and gardening sessions to primary school aged children with the guidance of the Project Lead.
* Comfort working in the outdoor environment and getting hands-on in the garden.
* A positive, can-do, collaborative, and adaptive attitude to tasks.
* A love of fresh, seasonal, and delicious food!
The position may from time to time require travel outside of the Southern Highlands. The applicant must be able to legally work in Australia and hold a valid Working With Children Check.
