Their Energy & Power Systems team is expanding, offering an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers to contribute to high-impact projects across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Your new role
As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering power systems studies and grid connection strategies for renewable energy projects. Based in Melbourne or working remotely from other Australian capital cities, you'll collaborate with developers, investors, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to ensure successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting detailed power systems studies and modelling
* Developing technical solutions for grid connection challenges, including weak grid scenarios
* Managing project phases from application through commissioning
* Supporting upgrades and equipment replacement for synchronous generation fleets
* Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, industry standards, and legislation
* Identifying opportunities for project extension and business growth
* Building internal and external networks to support knowledge sharing and client relationships
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Strong project management and stakeholder negotiation skills
* Experience with power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD)
* Background in utilities or engineering consultancy preferred
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong data management and reporting capabilities
* A collaborative mindset and practical problem-solving approach
