FACTORY MANAGER Operating multiple production lines with both powder coating and liquid paint systems, this business is a market-leading one‑stop shop servicing architectural, industrial, and domestic applications. An opportunity has arisen due to internal promotion for a critical role supporting overall factory performance at the Chipping Norton (NSW) facility. The position is responsible for delivering consistent, high‑quality output across the factory, including accountability for: Workplace safety and environmental compliance Supervision and performance management of production staff Monitoring and control of work in progress Implementing efficient work practices to optimise factory performance Management of chemical pre‑treatment systems Operation and adjustment of plant and equipment settings Control of consumables and packing processes Based within a busy production environment, the role requires a hands‑on, floor‑based Factory Manager with strong people‑management capability and solid mechanical aptitude. The successful candidate will be comfortable allocating and controlling labour, production workflows, and factory resources, and will work closely with Sales and Scheduling/Logistics teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations. THE ROLE Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will supervise team leaders and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager - planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure the continuation of workflow and machinery utilisation, establish and monitor that KPIs and deadlines are met. This is a hands-on role that involves acquiring the necessary skills to operate all factory machinery, while maintaining a team focused attitude with other factory staff. Lead, train, and mentor multiple teams, ensuring a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversee the maintenance of machines, ensuring that records are logged according to the schedule and machine maintenance is scheduled within production times frames. Ensure accurate and timely completion of jobs in line with the approved production schedule. Lead by example, promoting good work practices and fostering a collaborative, efficient team environment. THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Mechanically focused experience with production equipment, including understanding of multiple production line operations, equipment settings, drawings and quality control. A commitment to ensuring a safe working environment and a proactive approach to identifying, reporting, and rectifying hazards. A strong capability to identify and address issues that may affect production, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency. Able to effectively communicate with the multiple teams, operations manager, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues. A proactive attitude towards improving personal and team performance, as well as contributing to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives such as Project 480. The ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment, ensuring all production-related paperwork is completed accurately and on time. Experience in monitoring team performance and providing guidance to improve underperforming individuals or processes.
