The Role: Maintain the Standard
We are seeking an energetic and proactive Precinct Handyman, affectionately known across our venues as a "Yardy." This role is the backbone of our venue's presentation, responsible for ensuring the entire C.Y. O'Connor Precinct remains in peak condition. You will provide essential maintenance and logistical support to our Hospitality Operations team and the Group Facilities Manager to ensure a safe, clean, and premium environment for our guests. The role has a hourly salary rate of $25.85 p/hour and is Part-Time (24 hrs p/week) Tuesday-Thursday, with the potential for more available hours during busy periods.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Precinct Presentation: Maintain the interior and exterior aesthetic excellence of the venue.
* General Maintenance: Execute minor repairs/maintenance as required, ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
* Operational Support: Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing stock, and manage bin storage areas to ensure a tidy and organised workspace.
* Liaison & Safety: Work closely with contractors and team members to schedule maintenance, escalate complex repairs to the Facilities Manager, and champion OHS requirements across the precinct.
What You'll Bring to the Team
* Experience: Previous experience in a similar maintenance or "handy-person" role is desirable. You should have a knack for fixing things and an eye for detail.
* Attributes: We are looking for a "self-starter" with a positive attitude who can work independently or as part of a team. You should be computer literate with strong communication skills and a high standard of professional conduct.
Mandatory Requirements
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
* Valid Australian Truck Licence (or a genuine willingness to obtain one).
* A strong commitment to safety and a "lead by example" work ethic.
