About The Role
As Head of Department - Junior Secondary, you will lead engagement, transition, and wellbeing initiatives to support students to be On Track for Success.
The role focuses on creating a positive, supportive environment that fosters academic progress and student's social and emotional wellbeing.
Your Responsibilities
* Enact initiatives that enhance student engagement, focusing on targeted attendance support to improve academic improvement
* Establish the successful transition of students from year 6 to year 7 and from year 9 into year 10
* Promote student agency through fostering a culture of individual accountability
* Support teachers to achieve high standards and to develop their capacity through professional learning, coaching and feedback
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
* Build partnerships with students, parents, agencies, and community groups.
* Be future-oriented and strategic.
