Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and integrity of mine planning activities, ensuring designs are technically sound, aligned with operational goals, and continuously improved.
Key responsibilities include leading the development and optimisation of the mine plan to enable safe, efficient, and value-driven extraction, delivering short-, medium-, and long-term designs with supporting documentation, including financial evaluations and control processes, collaborating with stakeholders to manage risk, resolve scheduling issues, and progress critical path activities, managing design tools and processes, including system administration and QAQC, mentoring Planning team members and supporting capability growth across Technical Services, and championing safety and HSEC standards through leadership, inspections, and incident response.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
* A strong knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and backfill systems.
* A solid understanding of underground mine design and approval processes across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.
* Experience in developing and embedding technical systems and processes for mine planning and scheduling.
