Work Location: Hilton Cairns, 34 Esplanade, PO Box 1114, Cairns 4870

The Human Resources Officer will assist in the day-to-day running of the Human Resources Department, including managing hotel administration systems, recruitment, learning and development, and team engagement, while ensuring procedures and relevant legislations are followed. They will assist with the coordination and facilitation of tasks related to payroll, ordering systems, team member events, communications, training activities, and the general organization of the Human Resources office under the guidance of the HR Manager and Director.

What will I be doing?

As the Human Resources Officer, you will manage HR administration responsibilities to deliver an excellent team experience. You will support employee relations and interface with the HR system. Your specific tasks include:

* Managing HR administration such as contracts, letters, and personnel files
* Ensuring accurate data input into the HR system
* Handling employee relations issues confidentially, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance issues
* Adhering to recruitment and selection processes, including immigration checks
* Supporting departmental training needs, inductions, work experience, careers fairs, and training materials
* Managing pay reviews, absence monitoring, and wage queries in line with company policies
* Organizing team member events within the hotel
* Assisting with and resolving team member and management queries
* Managing office telephone inquiries
* Updating internal communications
* Managing rewards, benefits, and recognition programs
* Overseeing recruitment and onboarding processes
* Participating in the rollout of learning and development initiatives

What are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:

* Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in hotels
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Hotel Management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to high-quality customer service, both internally and externally
* Flexibility to adapt to various work situations
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
