Murray Veterinary services is seeking a full time trainee veterinary nurse to join our team, starting late February 2026.
About Us
We are a 11-vet equine only veterinary hospital located 15 minutes south of Pinjarra and 30 minutes from Mandurah in WA. We have a purpose-built hospital and breeding centre with a fully equipped equine surgical suite. We have all the equipment and facilities to provide first class equine veterinary care. We work with the full range of horses from racing thoroughbreds to pleasure horses and provide every level of service from breeding work to surgery, dentistry, lameness and medical care. We have a large breeding facility and perform all facets of artificial breeding in horses. We have an amazing team of 20 support staff who ensure our hospital runs smoothly and effectively.
About the position
The position is for a trainee nurse so you will need to be eligible to enrol or already be enrolled in the certificate 4 in veterinary nursing. The position involves assisting our senior nurses in their role as well as assisting stable hands with duties. You will be handling horses for procedures, consultations and treatments, trotting up horses for lameness exam, cleaning boxes and yards, ensuring horses are fed and watered appropriately, cleaning treatment and surgical areas between procedures and consultations, providing assistance with diagnostic imaging and at times traveling in the field with our ambulatory vets. You will be given training in biosecurity, sterilisation practices and in house pathology. No two days will be the same and it is a great introduction to equine veterinary nursing industry. This position is a full time position working a 4 day week and one in 3 Saturday morning.
