About the Role
We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our ocean conservation efforts. As Head of Biodiversity and Habitats, you will be responsible for designing and delivering innovative projects focused on protecting marine ecosystems.

You will oversee a high-performing team, build collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders, and represent our organisation at events and conferences.
Your expertise in marine science or environmental policy will inform your work, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of research and policy developments in ocean conservation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a high-performing team to achieve project milestones and organisational impact.
* Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of all biodiversity and habitat initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
* Buid and maintain collaborative relationships with partners, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
* Represent our organisation at events and conferences, both globally and nationally.
* Identify and influence policy change, working with stakeholders at local, national, and international levels to promote sustainable ocean governance.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a highly experienced conservation leader with a strong background in marine science or environmental policy. You will need:
* A relevant tertiary qualification (PhD preferred) in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field, with at least 10 years' experience working at the nexus of science, governance, policy, and impact.
* Deep knowledge of conservation science, marine ecosystems, and environmental policy frameworks.
* A strong reputation and established networks across policy, eNGO, academic, and government sectors in ocean conservation.
* Proven experience in managing complex conservation projects, including engagement with communities and governments.
* Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate findings into policy and practical impact.
