The Opportunity
As a key member of a highly innovative and collaborative team, the Senior Analyst plays a leading role in tailoring product offerings to communities across Australia and drives strategic goals by leveraging technology for space and range optimization. This involves partnering with various teams to enhance the customer experience, improve range effectiveness, range and store efficiency, and range perception through data-driven analysis, generating impactful insights and generating tailored range and store-specific planogram layouts.
As the Subject Matter Expert in range & space optimisation, the Senior Analyst will also play a role in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and embedding this within the team in collaboration with the Capabilities and Solutions team. The role works closely with the Commercial Team to implement strategic category, range, and space visions that provide value to our commercial & customers.
What You'll do
* Strategic Growth & Insights: Apply analytical rigour to co-create and implement range and merchandising strategies that drive Supermarket priorities.
* Commercial Influence: Partner with Buying teams to unlock customer opportunities through succinct, data-led insights and portfolio-wide initiatives.
* Team Leadership & Mentoring: Coach and mentor analysts to deliver high-quality strategic recommendations and best-practice analysis.
* Capability & Training: Identify team skill gaps and collaborate with Merch Solutions to build training and select the most efficient optimisation tools.
* Operational Governance: Ensure strict adherence to the Category Development Schedule (CDS), key milestones, and Grocery Code requirements.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive process enhancements for range reviews and lead strategic ad-hoc projects to improve store and market outcomes.
What You'll Bring
* A minimum of 5 years experience in relevant roles (eg: merchandising, category analyst, data & insight analyst, finance analyst, pricing analyst)
* High proficient understanding of Google & Microsoft systems, with intermediate/advanced excel functions (eg: pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting)
* Intermediate to advanced GCP
* Knowledgeable in agency datasets (Quantium, Shopper Intelligence, Circana or equivalent datasets
* Experience in SAP and Blue Yonder (JDA) Space Planning including Planogram Generator
* Understands the FMCG industry and commercial processes of Woolworths and Suppliers
