We're seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Developer to join a well-established background screening organisation supporting critical national and international customers.
You'll work on secure, high-availability systems that process sensitive data, contributing to products used by thousands of organisations. This role suits a developer who enjoys working in a structured environment, values quality and security, and wants exposure to large-scale, real-world systems.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications
Build and enhance APIs and internal platforms that support screening workflows
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Collaborate with product, QA, and senior engineering teams
Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
Support performance, security, and reliability improvements
Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
What We're Looking For
2–5 years of commercial software development experience
Strong experience with PHP 8 and modern development practices
Experience with MariaDB or MySQL
Understanding of the considerations for large relational databases
Solid understanding of REST APIs and system integrations
Experience using Git and standard SDLC practices
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working in regulated or compliance-focused environments
Nice to Have
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Understanding of security best practices and data protection
Experience working in Agile delivery teams
